Geography of the Panchayat
Area: The total area of Vakathanam Grama Panchayat is 26.48 square kilometres. The Panchayat comprises two villages: Vakathanam and Thottakkad.
Boundaries: Vakathanam Grama Panchayat is bounded by Puthuppally and Meenadom Grama Panchayats to the north, Madappally and Vazhapally Grama Panchayats to the south, Karukachal Grama Panchayat to the east, and Kurichy and Panachikkad Grama Panchayats to the west.
Topography: The Panchayat forms part of the distinctive Midland (Idanad) region of Central Travancore. Its landscape consists of elevated areas with hills and slopes, along with extensive paddy fields towards the western boundaries.
Administrative and Commercial Centre: Njaliyakuzhi is the main administrative and commercial centre of the Panchayat. The Panchayat Office and the main bus stand are located here.
